Stratford girls basketball ices Colby at the free throw line

COLBY — Macie Frueh and Tianna Hughes combined to make 17 of 26 shots from the free throw line to help the Stratford girls basketball team to a 56-41 nonconference win at Colby on Tuesday night.

The Tigers responded from their first loss of the season last Friday against Auburndale with a big first half, outscoring Colby 34-25.

Frueh finished with 15 points, Hughes added 11, and Savannah Schillinger had 10 for Stratford (7-1).

Samantha Hays had nine points for Colby (3-3).

Stratford is off until Monday when it hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
