Marshfield girls basketball team pushes to 4-0 with 13-point win over Stevens Point

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield outscored Stevens Point 25-16 in a wild first quarter and went on to a 68-55 victory over the Panthers in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls basketball game Friday night at The Boson Company Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.
Stevens Point (4-4, 1-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) trailed the Tigers 36-31 at halftime, but Marshfield was able to increase its lead to double digits in the second half.
Makayla Scheuer and Caitlin Michaelis each had 18 points to top Marshfield. Michaelis hit three 3-pointers, was 7 of 8 from the free throw line, and had a team-high eight rebounds and 10 assists. Freshman Hannah Meverden chipped in 13 points and five rebounds for Marshfield (4-0, 2-0 WVC).
The Tigers play a nonconference game at De Pere on Saturday.
