MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys basketball team fell to 2-3 this season after losing to La Crosse Central 53-48 in a nonconference game at The Boson Company Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School on Tuesday night.

Central (4-0) led 11-4 after the first quarter and Marshfield couldn’t recover. The Tigers held a 15-13 advantage in the second quarter and both teams scored 29 points in the second half.

Sophomore guard Alec Hinson had a season-high 16 points, and Tanner Boson and Caleb Alexander each added nine for the Tigers. Hinson drained four of the Tigers’ six 3-pointers.

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point on Friday. The girls game begins at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the boys matchup between the two schools at 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
