Forward Financial Bank donates to Marshfield Youth Hockey Association

MARSHFIELD — With two recent donations to the Marshfield Youth Hockey Association (MYHA), Forward Financial Bank helped to expand the use of the concession seating area and keep the Zamboni on the ice at the Marshfield Youth Ice Center.

The first donation of $30,000 was earmarked for the remodeling of the concession seating area, a balcony heated-seating area, and adding a heated entry way.

“The addition and remodeling of these heated areas within the arena creates a more comfortable environment for parents and other family members of our young athletes,” said MYHA Board President Allan Neinast. “Youth hockey families make a large investment of time for practices and games. We’re seeing more attendance and use of the warm areas this season”

Sponsorship of the Zamboni, a five-year commitment of $1,500 annually, was an opportunity that developed after the remodeling project began. This support helps fund annual maintenance on this key piece of equipment.

“Youth hockey is extremely popular in our area and is fast becoming a core sport in many communities and schools,” said President and CEO of Forward Financial Bank Bill Sennholz. “The lessons learned through youth hockey programs not only help with future aspirations on the ice. It fosters drive and teamwork that carries forward to community service and long-term career goals. Programs like MYHA develop future employees and leaders.”
