Marshfield girls hockey falls to undefeated Northland Pines

MARSHFIELD – Undefeated Northland Pines proved to be too much for Marshfield as it beat the Tigers 4-1 in a Great Northern Conference girls hockey matchup Friday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.
Pines is now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the GNC, while the Tigers fall to 0-3 and 0-2 in the conference.
Northland Pines scored three times in the second period to break open a close game.
Kessa Schreiner scored an unassisted goal 10:20 into the second period for Marshfield’s only goal. Alexis Straughan had 32 saves for Marshfield. Marshfield had only five shots on goal in the game.
The Tigers’ next game is Tuesday at Lakeland.
