Stratford girls basketball rolls past Iola-Scandinavia, improves to 4-0

STRATFORD — Savannah Schillinger had four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 16 points to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to a 59-35 nonconference victory over Iola-Scandinavia on Tuesday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers improved to 4-0 with the victory and handed Iola-Scandinavia (3-1) its first loss.

Stratford led 34-25 at halftime and opened up its lead with a dominating 25-10 advantage in the second half.

Marissa Cepress added 10 points, Tianna Hughes had nine, and Brittany Bredemann chipped in eight for the Tigers.

Stratford opens its Marawood Conference South Division schedule with a home game against Northland Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
