HOLMEN — The Marshfield boys basketball team won its first game of the season, upending Holmen 47-46 in a nonconference game on the road Tuesday night at Holmen High School.

Holmen rallied from 12 down to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but Caleb Alexander made a free throw with less than one second remaining to pull out the win for the Tigers.

Tanner Boson scored 16 points, which included 4 of 7 shots from 3-point range, to lead Marshfield. Will Spindler scored nine points, and Kegan Fassler, Adam Fravert, and Alexander each had six for the Tigers.

The Tigers (1-2) play another nonconference game at Baraboo on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
