Marshfield girls hockey drops conference opener at Point-Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Marshfield girls hockey team suffered its second-straight loss to start the season after losing its Great Northern Conference opener 3-1 to Point-Rapids on Monday night at South Wood County Rec Center.

Hailey Ehr scored 1:43 into the first period to put the Red Panthers ahead.

Marshfield tied it on a goal by Morgan Larson 5:45 into the second period, but Point-Rapids responded with two goals during the second half of the period to pull ahead.

Alexis Straughan had 36 saves for Marshfield (0-2).

The Tigers host Northland Pines at 7 p.m. Friday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Center.
