MARSHFIELD — The Outpost, a recreational sales and service company, opened on Aug. 1, 2014 on West Veterans Parkway in Marshfield.

“This is the only RV service center in Marshfield. We work on ATVs, motorcycles, trailers, and snowmobiles,” said Shawn Gaffney, owner of The Outpost and a Marshfield native.

According to Darlene Trybula, parts and service manager for The Outpost with over 17 years of experience in the business, the company will work on any RVs including motorized, fifth-wheels, and pop-ups. They will also repair trailer lights and wiring.

“Right now we are in the transition season. We are finishing up with RVs, and snowmobiles are just starting to come in,” said Gaffney, who has over 12 years of experience in the business.

The Outpost, a member of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is housed in a 16,000-square-foot building. The storefront is home to a service desk, waiting room, and parts store. Camper and RV parts and accessory brands such as Dometic, Norcold, and Thetford are available with warranty, and The Outpost will also perform recall work on items such as refrigerators, toilets, and other products.

When asked how they came up with the name for the company, Gaffney replied, “The building looked like an outpost, especially when you consider the other businesses nearby.”

The Outpost can order parts for any make and model. Parts available onsite include RV vent lids by Camco for $15.22, porch/utility lights by PM for $20.47, and water module replacement packages by Thetford for $29.02. Other parts available onsite include scissor jacks, awning accessories, lift handles, window cranks, ATV license kits, and Honda oils and filters.

According to Gaffney, services include improvements, remodeling, maintenance and repairs, installation of accessories, and the ordering of parts for customers.

“Stop by or give us a call, and we’ll help you out,” said Gaffney.

The Outpost accepts appointments by phone and will do 24-hour drop offs. Customers can drop off or pick up their recreational vehicles at anytime.

The cost of labor for work being done on RVs is $85 per hour and $70 per hour for work done on ATVs, excluding parts.

The Outpost is located at 2515 West Veterans Parkway in Marshfield and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and is closed on Sundays. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 715-898-1260 or email [email protected]
