Marshfield boys hockey splits two games at Tomah Invitational

TOMAH — The Marshfield boys hockey team went 1-1 during the weekend at the Tomah Invitational.

The Tigers lost 5-4 in overtime to Black River Falls on Friday and then came back to blank Sauk Prairie 11-0 on Saturday.

In the opener against Black River Falls, Marshfield led 4-2 after a goal by Zach Leggon 5:27 into the third period. However, Black River Falls came back with a pair of goals in the final 4:35 to force overtime, and Roger Jessie scored 3:25 into the extra period to win it.

Bryce Gadke scored twice, and Jacob Draves also scored for Marshfield.

Against Sauk Prairie, the Tigers rolled from the start.

Marshfield scored twice in the first period on goals by Leggon and Scotty Berg and then poured it on with six goals in the second period.

Leggon finished with four goals and four assists, Collin Barth scored twice, and Jacob Draves had a goal and four assists for Marshfield.

The Tigers’ next game is Tuesday at Medford.
