Columbus Catholic girls basketball team rolls, boys lose tight one at Cranberry Classic

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic basketball teams split nonconference games against Pittsville on Friday at the Cranberry Classic at Assumption High School.
The Dons girls opened the tournament with a 54-29 rout of Pittsville (0-2), improving to 3-1 this season.
The Columbus boys, who won a one-point game against Rib Lake earlier this week, dropped a one-point decision to Pittsville (1-0) 34-33 on Friday. The Dons are now 1-1.
Both Columbus Catholic teams play Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Saturday. The girls game starts at 1:45 p.m., and the boys will play at 8 p.m. The boys game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
