Stratford girls basketball routs Rib Lake

RIB LAKE — Tianna Hughes poured in 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to its second-straight victory to start the season, a 45-25 win over Rib Lake on Friday night at Rib Lake High School.

Stratford held Rib Lake (0-2) to two points in the first quarter and led 29-15 by halftime. Rib Lake only made 10 baskets in the game.

Hughes had five offensive rebounds in the first half as she scored 11 of her points in the opening 16 minutes.

Macie Frueh added 10 points, five steals, and six assists for the Tigers (2-0).

Stratford hosts Edgar in a nonconference game Tuesday.
