Weekly Police Blotter: Two Local businesses report scam
Wednesday, Nov. 19
- At 12:56 p.m. a 42-year-old Marshfield man reported that on Sept. 18 a 43-year-old male arranged to sell fish to his business and that as of today he still had not received the agreed upon fish. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect has conducted numerous fraudulent cases to small businesses throughout central and southern Wisconsin. The suspect is currently confined in the Waupaca County Jail. The investigation will continue.
Thursday, Nov. 20
- At 9:25 a.m. a 45-year-old Marshfield man reported that in late September he arranged to purchase fish from a traveling salesman and that as of today he still had not received the agreed upon fish. This scam is connected with another Marshfield case as well as numerous others throughout the state. The investigation is ongoing.
