Marshfield girls swim team competes at WIAA Division 1 sectional at Hudson

HUDSON — The Marshfield girls swim team placed 11th out of 13 teams at the WIAA Division 1 sectional Saturday at Hudson High School.

Hudson won the team title with 301.5 points, Eau Claire Memorial finished second with 291.5, and Wausau East took third with 278.

Sophie Koehn placed seventh in both the 100 freestyle (58.91 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:05.64) for Marshfield’s top finishes.

Elizabeth Holbrook finished eighth in the 100 breaststoke (1:12.21) and 12th in the 100 breaststroke (2:22.72) as well for the Tigers.

Koehn, Holbrook, Valerie Kushnir, and Megan Donahue had Marshfield’s top relay finish, taking eighth in the 200 medley relay in 2:00.92.

The event winners move on to the 2014 WIAA State Girls Swimming Championships in Madison next Saturday.
