Marshfield girls swim team wins three events in loss to Stevens Point

MARSHFIELD – Sophie Koehn and Elizabeth Holbrook each won events, and the two teamed with Megan Donahue and Sarah Claessens to win the 200 medley relay for Marshfield in a girls swim meet against Stevens Point on Tuesday at the Boson Company Fieldhouse.

Stevens Point won the meet 112-58 to improve to 4-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. Marshfield ends its conference regular season with a 1-5 record.

Koehn won the 100 freestyle in 1:01.21 and Holbrook took first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.69 for the Tigers’ two individual victories.

Koehn, Holbrook, Donahue and Claessens won the 200 medley relay in 2:07.14 for Marshfield.

Claessens was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:17.44, Michell Fernandez took second in the 50 freestyle (29.50), Donahue was second in the 100 freestyle (1:01.55) and Koehn took second in the 100 backstroke (1:08.45) for the Tigers.

Stevens Point won all 10 races to take the JV meet 116-20. Madi Hall was third in the 100 freestyle (1:10.93) for the Tigers’ top finish.

Marshfield finishes its regular-season schedule next Tuesday at home against Lakeland.
