WAUSAU – Two Marshfield doubles teams advanced to the sectional after placing in the top two at the WIAA Division 1 girls tennis subsectional Monday at Wausau East High School.

The Tigers’ No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Serchen, and the No. 2 team of Jenny Madden and Martha Kupfer each advanced to the sectional by winning matches on Monday.

Haessly and Serchen are now 12-6, while Madden and Kupfer improve to 16-8.

Individual match results were not provided.

Both doubles teams will take part in the Division 1 sectional at D.C. Everest on Thursday. The top four finishers at No. 1 and the winner of the No. 2 bracket will advance to the 2014 WIAA Girls Tennis Individual State Tournament in Madison on Oct. 16-18.
