NEENAH – The Marshfield volleyball team won just one game in five matches and finished 0-5 at the Neenah Invitational on Saturday at Neenah High School.
Marshfield lost to Appleton North 25-23, 25-21; Green Bay Notre Dame 25-19, 22-25, 15-10; Waupun 25-10, 25-10; West Bend East 25-10, 25-19; and Appleton Xavier 25-19, 25-18.
Natalie Zuelke had 21 kills, Stephanie Rhodes added 19 kills and 17 blocks, Anna Ripp had 47 assists and 25 digs, and Sara Dasler had 48 digs for the Tigers.
“The Neenah Invite is a really tough tournament; we were the only unranked team there,” Marshfield coach Dawn Sadowska said. “We started out the day playing with Appleton North (No. 4 in Division 1) and Notre Dame (No. 5 in Division 2), but we then started struggling in serve receive.
“We will now focus on the rest of our conference matches, hoping to continue winning our duals and be confident heading into tournaments.”
Marshfield, which has won four straight Wisconsin Valley Conference dual matches, plays at Wausau East on Thursday before playing in the second WVC tournament of the season next Saturday at Merrill.
