Auburndale volleyball fights to 2-1 record at Tomahawk Invitational

TOMAHAWK – The Auburndale volleyball team went 2-1 Saturday at the Tomahawk Invitational.
Auburndale defeated Oconto Falls 25-16, 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, and Osceola 26-24, 25-19, 18-25, 23-25, 15-11, before falling to Tomahawk 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, in three grueling matches.
Sydney Schmutzer had 104 assists, 41 digs and five aces for the Apaches.
Taylor Gotz had 32 kills, Jenna Peplinski added 31 kills and 35 digs, Shannon Yahnke had 26 kills and seven aces, and Hannah Castellano had 60 digs for Auburndale.
The Apaches are off until Thursday when they play at Athens in a nonconference match.
