VOX UNA SESSIONS MUSIC FESTIVAL RECEIVES TOURISM GRANT
MARSHFIELD – The Vox Concert Series in Marshfield invites music lovers from across the Midwest to attend the first annual Una Sessions Music Festival with the help of an $18,000 Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant. Presented to the Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, the Una Sessions Music Festival will take place on Nov. 13-15 and feature 20 national performing artists.
The festival is expected to generate an economic impact of $76,000 from traveler spending at area hotels, restaurants, and stores.
“Music brings people together, and this new festival will do just that while showcasing the excellent music and performing arts the Marshfield area has to offer travelers,” said Tourism Secretary Klett. “We’re thrilled to support the Una Sessions Music Festival and the positive economic impact it will create in the community.”
Inspired by the Latin word “una” meaning “together,” the Una Sessions Music Festival was created to bring artists and community together with the beauty of live music. Vox Concert Series has been entertaining Marshfield residents at Wildwood Station with musical performances from a variety of genres since 2005.
This year’s festival is the largest event of its almost ten year history, featuring Multi-Platinum and Grammy nominated recording artists. The three day festival will feature over 20 national acts, including the talents of Anna Nalick, Matthew Mayfield, Goran Kralj of The Gufs, Sam Llanas and David Berkeley. Una Sessions Music Festival aims to bring people together, promote culture and the arts, and sell more than 700 tickets. Grant funds will go towards print, radio and online media, as well as a public relations plan.
“In addition to the cultural impact, Vox Concert Series generates a positive economic boost for local businesses from visitors who come to enjoy our concert events,” said Brian Sauer, President and CEO of Vox Concert Series. “We are extremely grateful and excited for this grant and the opportunity to work with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to promote our passion for showcasing regional and national touring artists within our community.”
“The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau has been a proud partner of the Vox Concert Series, and we are expecting visitors from all over the Midwest to attend this unique music festival in November,” said Matt McLean Director of the Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau.
