LOYAL – Spencer continued its hot early-season play with a 3-0 sweep of Loyal/Granton in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division volleyball match Thursday night at Loyal High School.

The Rockets rolled 25-8, 25-6, 25-22, to improve to 2-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal/Granton is now 0-2 in the conference.

Marisa Johnson had eight kills and 12 digs, Macie Weber added eight kills, eight aces and five blocks, and Brooke Kettleborough had 22 assists for Spencer.

Courtney Buss added 10 digs, and Sydney Kind and Abby Varsho each had five kills for the Rockets.

“We came out strong and never looked back,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We controlled the net all night and our servicing and defense was solid as well. It was a fun match for Homecoming week.”

Spencer hosts Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Tuesday in a conference tilt.
