Marshfield football shut down by Neenah

NEENAH – The Marshfield football team dropped its second straight in the Valley Football Association South Division, losing 21-3 to Neenah on Friday at Neenah High School.

Neenah remains undefeated at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the VFA South, while the Tigers drop to 1-3 and 0-2 in the conference.

Marshfield must win four of its final five games to qualify for the WIAA playoffs.

Zach McManus hit a 20-yard field goal to put Marshfield up 3-0 at halftime before Neenah rallied off three unanswered touchdowns in the second half.

The Tigers had three turnovers and allowed 286 rushing yards in the loss.

Nathan Vandermause had 203 yards on 20 carries, including a 67-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter that put the Rockets up by 11 points.

Isaac Cline had 64 yards rushing for Marshfield.

Marshfield hosts Oshkosh West on Sept. 19. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
